SCOTT CITY -- Charles Patrick White, 76, of Granite City, Ill., died Friday, May 22, 1998, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1922, in St. Louis, son of Charles and Edna Miller White. He and Charlcie Baker were married Sept. 23, 1967, in Granite City.
White had been an oiler with Cargill Carriers.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Roxie Payne of Cottage Hills, Ill.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after noon Sunday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
