Patricia R. Lovelace, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, April 11, 1998, at her home in Jefferson City. She was 78.

She was born Nov. 26, 1919, at Greenville, Miss., daughter of William A. and Mary Ellen Tibbs Turner. They preceded her in death.

She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School and attended St. Louis University.

She was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in intelligence and communication in the South Pacific. She was a licensed pilot.

She was employed as a supervisor with the Missouri Department of Social Services prior to her retirement in 1978.

She was a member of St. Peter's Church, the American Public Welfare Association and the Missouri Association for Social Welfare.

She is survived by a daughter, Leah Lovelace of Jefferson City.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Freeman Chapel, with Deacon Robert Dulle and the Rev. Lowell Perkins officiating.

Graveside services and burial with military honors will be at Riverview Cemetery.
