DEXTER -- Otto C. Lape, 75, died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Stoddard County, son of Cooper and Ida McKinney Lape. He and Beulah Edwards were married Dec. 14, 1943, at Sikeston.

Lape was a retired farmer, a member of the Second General Baptist Church and a member of the Dexter Masonic Lodge 532 and Order of the Eastern Star 311.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis Lape of De Soto, Darwin Lape of Marble Hill; two daughters, Vickie Clubb and Teresa Lape, both of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, August Lape of Malden, Curtis Lape of Parma, Amil Lape and D.K. Lape, both of Sikeston; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. Masonic service will be held at 8.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Luther Rhodes and Phil Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Dexter cemetery.
