GLEN ALLEN -- Charles David Abernathy, 78, of Glen Allen died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.

He was born Nov. 27, 1919, at Gravelton, son of James M. and Emma Johnson Abernathy. He and Willie J. "Billie" Burns were married June 28, 1941.

Abernathy was a retired mechanic, and member of Glen Allen United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ruth Clark and Barbara Wilkinson of Glen Allen; two sisters, Kate Slinkard of Cape Girardeau, Ruby Montgomery of Ellisville; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Burial will be in Glen Allen Cemetery.
