SIKESTON -- Curtis Handley, 85, of Sikeston died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1913 in Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of William and Nancy Darrough Handley, and had lived in Missouri since 1993. He was of the Baptist faith. SIKESTON -- Curtis Handley, 85, of Sikeston died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at his home.

He was born Feb. 9, 1913 in Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of William and Nancy Darrough Handley, and had lived in Missouri since 1993.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by five sons, David Handley of Sikeston, William Handley of Clarkston, Mich., Kenneth, Larry and Calvin Smith, all of Malden; a daughter, Lavada S. Higgs of St. Louis; two sisters, Marquerite Moses and Liza Turner of East St. Louis, Ill.; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Saturday until service time at St. John Missionary Baptist Church

Funeral will be at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Flem E. Bronner Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
