MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Graveside service for Barbara McCowen of West Frankfort will be held at 11 a.m. today at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.

Crain Funeral Home Pleasant Grove Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

There is no visitation.

McCowen, 69, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

She was born Nov. 28, 1928, in Murphysboro, daughter of Charles and Ida Gregory Penrod. She married Glenn McCowen, who preceded her in death.

McCowen was formerly of Tamms, Sesser and Benton.

Survivors include a son, Gregory Alton of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Charles Penrod of Decatur; and a sister, Rose Jacobs of Murphysboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
