MARY E. MATHEWS

DEXTER -- Mary E. Mathews, 59, of Dexter died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1939, at Gideon, daughter of Ulyse and Rebecca Katherine May Frazier.

She was a member of the Abundant Life Temple in Malden, where she lived before moving to Dexter 15 years ago.

Survivors include three sons, Carl Mathews and Jerry Mathews, both of Malden, and Richard Mathews of St. Louis; three daughters, Becky Johnson of Bloomfield, Kathy Mallett of Saucier, Miss., and Cindy Grant of Dexter; three brothers, Kenneth Hinson of Chicago, Ray Frazier of Dexter and George Frazier of Bonne Terre; three sisters, Margie Anthony, Linda Newell and Margaret Gamblin, all of Dexter; and 14 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter and sister.

Service was held Saturday at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Kenneth Carnell of Malden officiating. Burial was in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
