Arthur Joseph Click, 72, 1616 Bel Air, Cape Girardeau, died Friday, July 10, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Aug. 8, 1925, at St. Louis, the son of Roy C. and Flora Julian Click.

He married Marcella E. Lawrence on May 13, 1950, at St. Louis.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army. He belonged to the Evangelical United Church of Christ. He bowled for many years in Cape Girardeau and St. Louis and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He belonged to a St. Louis Masonic lodge. He was a former council president at Evangelical United Church of Christ and volunteered for FISH and meals on wheels.

He is survived by his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Linda Click of Cape Girardeau a daughter, Mrs. David "Gayle" Shaffer of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mrs. William "Ethel" Hesselbach of Florissant; grandchildren Heather and Dave Cantoni, Adam Click and Kristin, Kasey and Kristopher Seib, all of Cape Girardeau; several nieces and nephews and dear friends too many to list.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. James Coughlin and Ernest Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery

Memorials may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ Scholarship Fund or Southeast Missouri Hospice.
