MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Retired Capt. Thomas Dale Granger, 61, of Murphysboro died Friday, July 24, 1998, at his home.

He was born Feb. 23, 1937, at Kankakee, son of Thomas Walter and Maude M. Houseman Granger

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a musician.

Survivors include his mother; two daughters, Capt. Martha Giddings Granger of Camp Casey, Korea, and T/Sgt. Sarah Granger DeLuzio of Yakota Air Base in Japan; three brothers, Curtis Lee Denny of Antioch, Mark Lyndell Granger of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Victor Michael Belz of Mexico; two sisters, Donna Jeanne Granger of Fairfax, Va., and Susan Kay Stokes of Anna; and a grandchild.

Graveside rites will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower. The Rev. Gary Gurmmerscheimer will officiate. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by Anna VFW Post 3455.

Lutz and Rendlemann Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of the arrangements.
