SOUTHAVEN, MISS. -- Fern Carmack Rose, 71, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital.

She was born Dec. 7, 1926, at Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Fred and Lenora Carmack.

She was a housewife and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Horn Lake, Miss.

She is survived by two sons, Harold Rose of Fort Gibson, Okla., and James Earl Rose Jr. of Asheville, N.C.; a daughter, Phyllis Rose Cunningham of Olive Branch, Miss.; a brother, Jerry Carmack of the state of Florida; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Rose Sr., and her parents.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven is in charge of arrangements.
