MOREHOUSE -- Doris Pemberton McNew, 73, of Morehouse died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Ellsinore, daughter of Noah C. and Millie M. Freer Aubuchon Sr. She and Leo Pemberton were married May 4, 1946. He died Oct. 12, 1972. She and Ivan McNew Sr. were married July 1, 1991...

MOREHOUSE -- Doris Pemberton McNew, 73, of Morehouse died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Ellsinore, daughter of Noah C. and Millie M. Freer Aubuchon Sr. She and Leo Pemberton were married May 4, 1946. He died Oct. 12, 1972. She and Ivan McNew Sr. were married July 1, 1991.

McNew lived in Charleston most of her life, and worked at Brown Shoe Co. 30 years. She was a member of Smith's Chapel Baptist Church in Ellsinore.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jim Pemberton of Senath, Alen Pemberton of Charleston; two daughters, Carolyn Stults of Kevil, Ky., Barbara Carman of Charleston; a stepson, Ivan McNew Jr. of Morehouse; three stepdaughters, Phyllis Parker of Sikeston, Shirley Tate of Dexter, and Audrey King of Owassa, Okla.

Also surviving are three brothers, Noah Aubuchon of Wentzville, Frank Aubuchon of St. Louis, Paul Aubuchon of Arnold; four sisters, Ella Boyer of Hunter, Norine Bacon of Ellsinore, Doris Pemberton of Morehouse, Evelyn Brand of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Littles officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
