Lillian Frances Brown, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Elizabeth, Ark., daughter of William Joseph and Martha Ann Meads Ables. She and Alvis Durant Brown were married Dec. 12, 1931, in Marked Tree, Ark. He preceded her in death.

Brown had worked in nursing services in a hospital. She was formerly of Malden and a member of Kimball Baptist Church there.

Survivors include two sons, Dale Brown of Cape Girardeau, David Brown of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Joyce Jones of Warsaw; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Friends may call at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in Hillview Memorial Gardens at Farmington.
