SCOTT CITY -- Everett David "Bud" Walker, 79, of Scott City died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at his home.

He was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Jonesboro, Ark., son of Everett D. and Caroline Klughart Walker. He and Julia Barbara DeGeorge were married March 6, 1943, in Atlantic City.

Walker was a locomotive engineer with Cotton Belt Railroad, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW Post 6407, Knights of Columbus Council 6420, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Walker of Manchester, Ga., Anthony Walker of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, John Walker of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Pierce and Maxine Akenhead of Pine Bluff, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at St. Joseph Church after 5 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and KC prayers at 7:15.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Pat Wissman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
