SCOTT CITY -- Funeral for Willis E. "Shorty" Lange Sr. of Scott City will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Terry Eades will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel after 5 p.m. today.
Lange, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 10, 1914, at Egypt Mills, son of Charles Fred and Francis Holmes Lange. He and Lou Vera Schleinger were married Nov. 1, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.
Lange had worked at A.E. Birk Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, and VFW Post 6407 at Scott City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Wendel, Fred and Roy Lange of Scott City, Larry Lange of Millersville; a sister, Doris Wilkirson of Arlington, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and three sisters.
