Funeral for Julia Patterson Tillis of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Elder Marion A. Green will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Tillis, 95, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 8, 1903, in Yazoo City, Miss., daughter of Willie and Josephine Andrews. She married Curtis Tillis, who preceded her in death.

Tillis owned and operated three cafes, Smith's Cafe, Pink Service Station and Johnson Street Cafe, all in Greenwood, Miss. She was also employed in housekeeping on a train out of Chicago.

She was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in St. Louis, and a member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, John Patterson of Harvey, Ill.; a daughter, Jessie Smith of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Willie Andrews of East St. Louis, Ill.; a sister, Viola Prigette of Mississippi; a godson, Kenneth Pryor; a goddaughter, Marie Pryor; 35 grandchildren; and more than 75 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sons, three daughters, a grandson, and a great-granddaughter.
