SCOTT CITY -- Avie Lee Williams, 86, of Scott City died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Lake City, Ark., daughter of the late William and Minnie Russom McFarlin. She was a homemaker who also had worked on the assembly line at GTE in Genoa, Ill...

SCOTT CITY -- Avie Lee Williams, 86, of Scott City died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Lake City, Ark., daughter of the late William and Minnie Russom McFarlin. She was a homemaker who also had worked on the assembly line at GTE in Genoa, Ill.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wiley Lambert, her second husband, Oliver Anders in October 1944 and her third husband, Jessie Williams, in December 1981.

Survivors include a son, W.B. Lambert of Rochelle, Ill.; a stepson, Joe Williams of Chicago; two daughters, Mary Johnson of Wagoner, Okla., and Betty Jackson of Scott City; a stepdaughter, Beverly Darling of Rockford, Tenn.; two sisters, Lula Holden of Sun City, Calif., and Marie Harris of Detroit, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, five brothers, four sisters, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral will be held at the chapel at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Terry Eades officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Upper Cane Island Cemetery in Lake City.
