Funeral for Glen O. "Bunny" Runnels of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. The Rev. Gerald Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill, with graveside rites by VFW Post 5900.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Runnels, 81, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at his home.
He was born April 27, 1917, at Marble Hill, son of William and Ida Allen Runnels. He and Letty E. Sample were married March 10, 1937. She died Feb. 13, 1995.
Runnels retired from Missouri Dry Dock and Repair, and had operated a welding and fabricating shop in Marble Hill and Cape Girardeau many years. He was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Martin and Tish Barnes of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Fern Haddock of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
