BERTRAND -- William Henessey McKenney, 91, of Bertrand died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at the Bertrand Retirement Facility.

He was born Sept. 2, 1907 in Sikeston, son of Revis and Viola Suter McKenney. He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life where he was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bertrand.

He had been employed with the North Shore Freight Line for 30 years until his retirement in 1964. He was a member of Local 705 I.B. of T.

In September 1953, he married Josephine Mor. She died July 16, 1994. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons, William H. McKenney Jr. of Hermitage, Tenn., and Richard A. McKenney of Washington D.C.; a daughter, Joyce Wailly of Bertrand; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
