PERRYVILLE -- Leon V. Geile, 77, of Perryville died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1921, at Leadwood, son of Theodore and Alice French Geile. He and Marian E. Steffen were married June 4, 1949.

Geile was a retired tuck-point contractor. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, VFW Post 4282, Amvets Post 94, American Legion Post 133, and Optimist Club.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Daniel, Kevin and Keith Geile of Perryville, David Geile of St. Louis, Thomas Geile of Spokane, Wash.; three brothers, Earl and Glennon Geile of Ste. Genevieve, Howard Geile of Perryville; a sister, Dora Geile of Perryville; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30-11:30 a.m. An American Legion wake service will be held at 7 tonight.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Donald Loesch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
