LORENE DEWITT

COBDEN, Ill. -- Lorene DeWitt, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born April 8, 1913, in Alexander County, daughter of William Richard and Mary Elizabeth Harvell. She and John A. DeWitt were married Nov. 24, 1933, in Jonesboro. He died Dec. 7, 1987.

DeWitt owned and operated Hillside Terrace Nursing Home. She was a member of Cobden Women's Club, Rebeccas in Carbondale, and Baptist Church of Mill Creek.

Survivors include a son, Donald DeWitt of Cobden; two daughters, Gail DeWitt of Cobden, Joann Lisch of Anna; two sisters, Edna Spurlock of Anna, Bertha Lingle of McClure; and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Mixen officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
