Former businessman R.S. Duncan, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at his home.

He was born Oct. 18, 1905, in Dixon, Ky., son of Charles Franklin and Ida Mae Edwards Duncan. He and Lilyan Bowman were married June 1, 1928. She died in 1986.

Duncan was a 1923 graduate of Dixon High School and was a member of its football team. He attended the University of Kentucky and Southeast Missouri State University.

He was a salesman with Ralston Purina 36 years, retiring in 1965. He also owned and operated a feed and seed business on Morgan Oak for many years.

Duncan was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and Downtown Rotary Club.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Ray Duncan of Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. S.S. Borum and Dr. Robert Foster officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
