Chapman, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at Ashland Villa in Ashland.

She was born Feb. 10, 1913, at Brownfield, Ill., daughter of Charles Harrison and Ethel Iris Reedus Green. She and Charles Addison Chapman were married Feb. 9, 1935, at Morehouse. He died March 18, 1993.

Chapman lived in Morehouse many years, moving to Columbia in 1987. She was a member of Morehouse United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Charles Chapman of Columbia; a daughter, Regina Turley of Holts Summit; a brother, James Green of Many, La.; a sister, Charity Shaw of Rock Springs, Wyo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
