JACKSON -- Funeral Mass for Jerome Louis Scharenborg of Jackson will be held at 9 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Scharenborg, 70, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at Heritage Gardens Nursing Home.
He was born April 26, 1928, at Leopold, son of John George and Frances Adeline VanGennip Scharenborg.
Scharenborg worked at Hahs Shell Service from 1946-66, Kroger Egg Grading Plant 1966-81, and at Southern Security Service from 1981-86.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Knights of Columbus Council 6405. He served in Missouri National Guard six years.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Scharenborg of Columbia; a daughter, Susan Grimms of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five brothers, Everett, Wilfrid "Bill", John and Joseph Scharenborg, all of Jackson, Martin Scharenborg of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Eleanor and Frances Scharenborg of Jackson, Mary Schuermann of Barnhart; and two granddaughters.
