SIKESTON -- Opal B. Parsons, 88, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 5, 1910, at Matthews, daughter of James Newton and Effie Smith Brown. She and Frank R. Parsons were married June 26, 1946, in St. Louis. He died Dec. 15, 1977.

Parsons had been a secretary at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. She was a member of Tanner Street Church of God, and was a volunteer 20 years at Heritage House.

Survivors include a niece, Shirley Sensmeyer of Arnold; three nephews, Dan Gossett of Arnold, E.R. "Dick" Inman and Gerald Inman of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
