ESSEX -- Charles Daniel Wyatt, 84, of Essex died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at Sikeston Health Care Center near Morehouse.
He was born Dec. 25, 1913, at Malden, son of James Daniel and Laura Bell Swain Wyatt. He and Opal Grim were married Jan. 8, 1944, in Corning, Ark.
Wyatt retired from Himmelberger-Harrison Manufacturing Co. at Morehouse, where he worked 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Wanda Gallamore of Essex, Shirley Cozart of O'Fallon, Bonnie Rodgers of Attica, Ind., and Doris Hollis of Bloomfield.
Also surviving are five sisters, Agnes Pike of Las Vegas, Nev., Bessie Butler of Charleston, Loretha Bennett of Pontiac, Mich., Lorene Hunsaker of Jackson, Evelyn Pulliam of Essex; 14 grandchildren, including Polly Eaton of Essex, who was reared by her grandparents; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
