ROBERT E. NORTHERN

DEXTER -- Robert E. Northern, 69, of Dexter died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Crowley Ridge Care Center.

He was born Oct. 11, 1929, at Mississippi County to Leslie and Flora Swinney Northern.

On Dec. 24, 1965, at Charleston he married Mary Lou Pulliam.

He attended First Assembly of God Church in Dexter and had worked at Arvin Automotive.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Scott Northern of Bloomfield and Bobby Northern of Bertrand; three daughters, Michele Silvey of Joplin, and Angela Griffith and Sandra Northern, both of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Louise Wright and Linda Heppe, both of Mississippi County; and six grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter, with the Rev. Gary Petty officiating. Burial will follow in Essex Cemetery.
