CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral service for Katie Luckett of Cairo was held Sunday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo. Della Russell and Pastor Sonny Keesee officiated, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.

Luckett, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born Nov. 22, 1913, at Morley, daughter of Charley and Sarah Carroll Elderidge. She and Clarence Earl Luckett were married March 24, 1931. He died June 5, 1969.

Luckett was a resident of Charleston many years, and was a floor lady at Brown Shoe Co. She moved to Cairo in 1949 and was employed at M. Nower Co., retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Urbandale.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Cook of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
