CHARLESTON -- Kyle Brandon Cope, 22, of Jefferson City, formerly of Bertrand, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau from injuries from an automobile accident.

He was born March 18, 1975, in Sikeston, son of Al and Clara Marie Murphy Cope.

He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston, where he was active as a server, lector and member of the choir. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and Truman State University at Kirksville, with a degree in political science.

He accepted employment as assistant to the president of Linn State Technical College. He was inducted into the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at Truman State, serving as fraternity president his senior year. He also served on the board of governors at Truman State, and was a member of the Kirksville Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his parents; and two sisters, Sheila Doberenz of Hugson, Calif., and Luanne Solanski of Ceres, Calif.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston, with the Revs. Rich Lause and Kevin Clohessey officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F Cemetery near Charleston.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. A prayer service is scheduled at 7 on Monday.
