EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Delbert Wright Freeman of East Prairie was held Monday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Mike Cartwright and Larry Davis officiated.

Friends may call at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Ga., from 7-9 p.m. today.

Another funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Newnan, with Henry Calhoun and Udale Addison officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Newnan.

Freeman, 69, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 18, 1928, in Newnan, son of Joseph W. and Georgia Davison Freeman. His first wife, Inez, preceded him in death. He and Edna Crook were married Aug. 24, 1996.

Freeman moved to East Prairie in 1996 from Newnan. He was a member and former pastor of Open Door Baptist Church in Newnan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include two daughters, Dale Reynolds and Gail Groves of Sikeston; a sister, Opal Moore of Newnan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
