SCOTT CITY -- Keith Ivester of Scott City died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was 66.

He was born in Stoddard County, son of Zelmar and Julia Ann Temples Ivester. He married Betty Williamson Dec. 10, 1957, at Hernando, Miss. She survives.

He was an equipment operator who worked in construction, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and had played for a short time with the St. Louis Browns professional baseball team.

He also is survived by two sons, Frank Ivester of Humble, Texas, and Paul Ivester of Scott City; three daughters, Debbie Lambert of Scott City, Kris Ivester of Manistee, Mich., and Beth Tankersley of Marble Hill; a brother, Harry Ivester of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Anita Jo Rainey of Clewiston, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Williamson officiating.

Burial will be in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
