IRENE M. BESAND

PERRYVILLE -- Irene M. Besand, 71, of Perryville died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 19, 1926, at St. Louis, daughter of Frank and Theresa Unterreiner.

She married Wilbert S. Besand Nov. 23, 1946. He died May 29, 1989.

Besand was a retired nurse's aide at Perry County Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish.

Surviving are sons, Steven Besand, Cape Girardeau, and David Besand, Sedgewickville; a daughter, Theresa Besand, Perryville; a brother, Raymond Unterreiner, Brewer; sisters, Dora Buchheit, Frances Courtois, Lorene Horschman and Josephine Besand, all of Perryville; seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

A son and two brothers preceded her in death.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.

A parish wake will be held tonight at 7 at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Fausz. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
