Verna I. Hinck, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She lived at Fountainbleau Lodge. She was born Mary 25, 1919, daughter of Roy Bates and Estelle Mary Chappius Glisson in St. Louis. She married Walter William Hinck Sept. 15, 1940, in Marble Hill. He preceded her in death...

Verna I. Hinck, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She lived at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born Mary 25, 1919, daughter of Roy Bates and Estelle Mary Chappius Glisson in St. Louis.

She married Walter William Hinck Sept. 15, 1940, in Marble Hill. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include three sons, William G. Hinck and John Hinck, both of Cape Girardeau, and Terry Hinck of Phoenix; two sisters, Hilda McMillan of Tulsa, Okla., and Bruxie Norman of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Don Stephens officiating.

Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
