BERTRAND -- Winford E. Wages, 67, of Bertrand died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Scranton, Ark., son of Thomas E. and Lizzie Ballard Wages. He and Linda F. Hunt were married May 6, 1952, in Piggott, Ark.

Wages was a field and service mechanic with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Co. in St. Louis 39 years. He was a member of Cornerstone General Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deborah West of Bridgeton, Cynthia Wages of Bertrand; his mother of Sikeston; two brothers, Marion Wages of Patton, Kenneth Wages of Maryland Heights; a sister, Mary Thompson of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone Church, with the Rev. David Cullen officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
