ELEANOR STOKES

ORAN -- Funeral service for Eleanor Caroline Stokes of Oran will be held at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. The Rev. Ed Carter will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Garden near Morley.

Stokes, 81, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 28, 1915, at Oran, daughter of Osman John and Loretta Evelyn Burger Bingley. She and Willie W. Stokes were married Dec. 6, 1940. He died Dec. 31, 1987.

Survivors include two sons, John Stokes of Tucson, Ariz., Robert Stokes of Oran; a brother, Joseph Bingley of Montrose, Colo.; two sisters, Agnes Folsom of Sutherlin, Ore., Martha Harper of Marion, Ky.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.
