ANNA, Ill. -- John Mowell, 55, of Anna died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997, at Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born Oct. 13, 1941, in Anna, son of John and Kathryn Davis Mowell Sr. He and Pat Sydenstricker were married Nov. 2, 1963, in Anna. ANNA, Ill. -- John Mowell, 55, of Anna died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born Oct. 13, 1941, in Anna, son of John and Kathryn Davis Mowell Sr. He and Pat Sydenstricker were married Nov. 2, 1963, in Anna.

Mowell was employed by Illinois Central Railroad 36 years, and was currently a conductor. He was a member of MoArk Baptist Church in MoArk, Ark.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lisa Mowell of Anna; and his mother of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Larry Shacklee and Jimmy Keller officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
