LEOPOLD -- Joseph B. Eftink, 88, of Leopold died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 13, 1908, near Leopold, son of George and Hanna Landewee Eftink. He and Anna Marie Trankle were married April 27, 1937. She died May 19, 1994...

LEOPOLD -- Joseph B. Eftink, 88, of Leopold died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 13, 1908, near Leopold, son of George and Hanna Landewee Eftink. He and Anna Marie Trankle were married April 27, 1937. She died May 19, 1994.

Eftink was a farmer, and member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Glennon.

Survivors include four sons, Charles and Mark Eftink of Leopold, Robert Eftink of Marble Hill, Joseph Eftink of Advance; three daughters, Bernice Horman of Chaffee, Carol Welker of Patton, Rita Holshouser of Marble Hill; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers and the rosary will be at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Church, with the Rev. Frederick Lutz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
