PERRYVILLE -- Zelma A. Mason, 96, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Perryville, died Sunday, March 9, 1997, in Pittsburgh.

She was born May 16, 1900, in Perryville, daughter of Felix and Clara Doerr DeLassus. She married Paul T. Mason in June 1922. He died Dec. 5, 1974.

She was a retired pharmacist from DeLassus Drug Store in Perryville. She was a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, a member of the first graduating class of St. Vincent de Paul High School in 1917 and the first female graduate of St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

She is survived by a son, Paul Taylor of Pittsburgh, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and half-sister.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 6:30 to 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. A wake service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday. A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
