EAST PRAIRIE -- William Lee Counts, 83, of East Prairie died Monday, March 10, 1997, at Charleston Manor in Charleston.
He was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Shannon County, son of John Tucker and Mary Adeline Martin Counts. He first married Pearl Littrell, who preceded him in death. He later married Madge Allen.
Counts lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Clayton Counts of Tampa, Fla., Ricky Counts, address unknown; Joe Counts of Qulin; three daughters, Ada Lay and Mary Matthews of East Prairie, Dorothy Matthews of Bertrand; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two granddaughters; a great-grandson; two sisters; and a brother.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Richard Farquhar officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to service time.
