JACKSON -- Richard L. "Dick" Koeppel, 62, of Jackson died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Jackson, son of C.E. and Mary Francis Weidner Koeppel. He and Alice Faye Schweer were married June 8, 1956.

Koeppel was a 1953 graduate of Jackson High School, and served with the U.S. Air Force four years in Cheyenne, Wyo.

He was employed at Koeppel Insurance which later sold to Lakenan Insurance, and he worked at Lakenan for a time. He started work at Cape County Bank in 1973, retiring in 1996 as vice president of the bancorporation.

Koeppel was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, sang in the choir, and was a charter member of Jackson Jaycees.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Steven Koeppel of Columbia, Ronald Koeppel of Jackson, Dan Koeppel of Kelso; a daughter, Donna Parke of Eureka; four sisters, LaVern Miller of Wichita, Kan., Phyllis Vinyard and Dorothy Barnhouse of St. Charles, Carolyn Owsley of Palmyra; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
