ELMA E. DENNIS
WHITEWATER -- Elma E. Dennis, 83, of Whitewater died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 22, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Penturf Barks. She married Herbert B. Dennis on June 1, 1933, in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 22, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Penturf Barks. She married Herbert B. Dennis on June 1, 1933, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1991.
She was a member of the Whitewater United Methodist Church and Whitewater Eastern Star Chapter #174.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Dennis of Whitewater and Richard Dennis of Dexter; one daughter, Diane Hahn of Marble Hill; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and one sister.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Brice officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Cemetery.
