JACKSON -- Pansy M. Eakins, 94, of Jackson died Sunday, March 23, 1997, at Heritage Gardens Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 27, 1902, at Burfordville, daughter of Frank and Hester Medley Howard. She and Erma Eakins were married Aug. 17, 1921. He died Sept. 28, 1991.

Eakins moved to Jackson in 1972 from Whitewater. She worked at the former International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, Coy Eakins of Burfordville, L.T. Eakins of Jackson; two daughters, Gertrude Myers of O'Fallon, Mabel Clardy of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters, and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bill Ellis and Jimmie Fulbright officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
