CAIRO, Ill. -- Eugene R. Spillman, 86, of Cairo died Friday at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the Cairo Baptist Church, the Carpenters union and Cairo Masonic Lodge No. 237 AF and AM.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Spillman, in 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Alice Bonifield of Bell City; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Larry Potts will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
