JOE SCHAFFER

CHARLESTON -- Joe Daniel "Big Dan" Schaffer, 50, of Charleston died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at his home.

He was born July 29, 1946, at Sikeston, son of James Clifford and Jewel Katherine Daugherty Schaffer. He and SeDonna Rose Reynolds were married May 3, 1969.

Schaffer had lived in Mississippi County Most of his life. He was a self-employed mechanic, retiring in 1988.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Schaffer Jr. of Charleston; three brothers, J.D. and Jim Schaffer of Sikeston, John Schaffer of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Jackie Crews of Memphis; and two grandsons.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rich Lause officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
