ANNA, Ill. -- Jewell Basler, 89, of Anna died Thursday, June 5, 1997, at her home. She was born Feb. 11, 1908, at Thompsonville, daughter of Oscar and Della Ramsey Waller. She and Dennis J. Basler were married July 21, 1930, at Cobden. Basler retired as a mental health technician at the former Anna State Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church...

ANNA, Ill. -- Jewell Basler, 89, of Anna died Thursday, June 5, 1997, at her home.

She was born Feb. 11, 1908, at Thompsonville, daughter of Oscar and Della Ramsey Waller. She and Dennis J. Basler were married July 21, 1930, at Cobden.

Basler retired as a mental health technician at the former Anna State Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Barbara Stute of Anna, Patricia Gallois of Jacksonville, Linda Basler of Carbondale; two sons, Dennis and Gerry Basler of Anna; a brother, Budd Waller of Anna; two sisters, Kathleen Casey of Anna, Betty Sweitzer of Westland, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, several brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. Tom Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
