She was born on Dec. 26, 1904 near Fruitland daughter of Charles F. and Lizzie Shoults Hoffman. She and Julius A. Wedekind were married on Aug. 2, 1925. He preceded her in death...

JACKSON -- Viola May Wedekind, 92, of Jackson, formerly of Whitewater, died Friday, June 20, 1997, at the St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born on Dec. 26, 1904 near Fruitland daughter of Charles F. and Lizzie Shoults Hoffman. She and Julius A. Wedekind were married on Aug. 2, 1925. He preceded her in death.

Wedekind was a longtime member of the Whitewawter United Methodist Church in Whitewater. She taught Sunday School class and was a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization. She was a former school teacher in the Tilsit Public School during the mid 1920s.

Survivors include a son, William Wedekind of Oregon, Mo., and a sister, Arlyn Heider of Jackson. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, a sister and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Whitewater United Methodist Church in Whitewater. Burial will be in the Zion United Methodist Church cemetery in Gordonville.
