LUTHER GEORGE

SIKESTON -- Luther George, 69, died Sunday, July 27, 1997, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.

He was born June 6, 1928, in Converse, La., son of M.P. and Becky Fletcher George. He and Margaret Ann McCraney were married June 19, 1950. She preceded him in death. He later married Berniece Adams Dec. 22, 1979, in Morley.

George formerly worked at Milbank Corp. in Kansas City. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny George of Edwardsville, Kan.; a daughter, Norma Zolotor of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Albert George of Many, La., Ray George of Mansfield, La.; two sisters, Helen Pugh of Mansfield, Nola Davis of Shreveport, La.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Gene Warren, Billie Butler and Richard Whitman officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
