PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service for Eunice Zahner of Perryville was held Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home. The Rev. Willis Darling officiated, with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Centreville, Ill.

Zahner, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997, at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born Aug. 1, 1916, at Poplar Bluff, daughter of Asher and Vina Osbornd Hockenberry. She first married Cecil Edward Beasley June 1, 1944, in St. Louis. He died May 7, 1949. She later married Chalmer Zahner June 25, 1954, in Perryville. He died Jan. 1, 1989.

Zahner was a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish and its Ladies Sodality at Sereno.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Doiron of Perryville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 11 great-stepgrandchildren; and a great-great-stepgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and a sister.
