ADVANCE -- Floyd W. Johnson, 69, of Advance, formerly of De Soto, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 9, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. ADVANCE -- Floyd W. Johnson, 69, of Advance, formerly of De Soto, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 9, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.

He was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Qulin, the son of Roscoe and Lectie Boyles Johnson.

He and Barbara Fredwell were married April 11, 1958, at Kansas City. She survives.

He retired after 30 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Asphaltic Concrete Co. of St. Louis.

Survivors include a son, John Johnson of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Kathy Graham of O'Fallan; two brothers, Reuben Johnson of Bloomfield and Otho Johnson of Cherryville, Kan.; three sisters, Geneva Colburn of Doniphan, Mildred Kempisty of Detroit, Mich., and Marie Hansan of Cherryville, Kan.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and two sisters.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Clint Colburn officiating. Interment will be at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
