DEXTER -- Memorial service for John Dale Mofield of Melbourne, Fla., will be held at 7 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Doyle Corlew will officiate.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to service time.

Mofield, 73, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997, at his home.

He was born Aug. 16, 1924, at Dexter, son of Robert and Edna Dickerson Mofield. He and Joyce Lance were married in Pontiac, Mich.

Mofield attended Essex Schools. He retired from General Motors in Pontiac.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jill Freiburger of Waterford, Mich.; a brother, Jerry Mofield of Dexter; two sisters, Sandy Jones of Essex, Prggy Wiessenbauch; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
