SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Marylin L. Smith of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Vernon Self will officiate, with burial in Sycamore Cemetery near Dexter.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Smith, 62, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
She was born April 9, 1935, in Elgin, Ill., daughter of Harry C. and Gracie Ann Gaines Holland. She married Howard Smith.
Smith had been a cook at Sikeston Public Schools and Morehouse Elementary School, and had also worked at Stark Manufacturing Inc. at Charleston.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert Smith of Bloomfield, Michael Smith of Sikeston; two daughters, Brenda Jones of Doniphan, Barbara Hampton of Sikeston; three sisters, Barbara Wagner of Bloomfield, Carolyn Burton of Doniphan, Donna Quinn of Sunset Beach; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a great-grandchild.
